GorillaT Launches Listeners into Orbit with Confident Banger, ‘Keep On Tellin’
GorillaT’s primate inspired wonks have made a splash on the scene since he debuted around 2022. He has released great albums like Tales of a Stoned Ape and Third Eye Vision, as well as numerous standout singles. His stage presence and versatile monkey aesthetic makes him a notable up and comer.
His newest outing, the Inner Mind EP features bops like “Somewhere Up There” and “KEEP ON TELLIN”, the subject of this article.
“KEEP ON TELLIN” immediately busts down the doors with BWAMP sound effects and some wonks. The vocal sample hooks in the listener even more. Thick, natural basslines provide a unique rhythm with a bass guitar vibe. The track fades before introducing hard-hitting drums. “KEEP ON TELLIN” is gradually launched into warp speed. Ending the journey with choppy wubs bending frequencies. The vocals are perfectly blended within the track sections. Effortlessly riding the waves and bouncing off of the drop. This first drop is very expansive and features a variety of sections and sounds. Rising and falling as GorillaT intends.

We are then brought back to the introduction, complimented by a new sample.

A drum fill thrusts us into the next drop build up. Things immediately spin out of control (in the best way possible.) This second drop is way different than the first. Introducing some new sound elements to the mix. The frequencies towards the end of the track are especially noteworthy, concluding with the familiar vocals.
“KEEP ON TELLIN” features amazing vocal sampling techniques and a diverse soundscape. The extended drops keep the listener guessing while their minds are being blown. This song has inspired me to revisit GorillaT’s catalogue and enjoy all of his BANGERS over again. Well Done Sir!
