Electronic Music Legend, deadmau5, to Take the Stage This September
Goldrush 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest weekends of the year for electronic music fans in Phoenix. Returning to Rawhide Western Town on September 11 and 12, the festival brings together more than 50 artists across multiple stages, with GRiZ, Alleycvt, Alesso, Martin Garrix and one of electronic music’s most recognizable names, deadmau5, leading the charge. For fans who have been following dance music for years, there is something especially exciting about seeing an artist like deadmau5 return to the Valley. He isn’t simply another name on a festival lineup but is one of the artists who helped define what electronic music could become.
For more than two decades, deadmau5 has remained a staple of the electronic music world, constantly finding new ways to push the sound forward. From uploading music online and building an audience through internet communities to selling out arenas and creating some of the most recognizable live productions in dance music, Joel Zimmerman has built a career almost entirely on doing things his own way. Tracks like “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,” “Strobe,” “The Veldt” and “I Remember” became defining records for an entire generation of electronic music fans, while his mau5head and massive cube productions turned his live performances into something much bigger than a traditional DJ set.
He isn’t slowing down. Over the past year, deadmau5 has returned to releasing new music with “Ameonna,” followed by “Science” with Stevie Appleton, while continuing to build toward a new studio album expected in 2026. He has also continued performing as Kx5 alongside longtime collaborator Kaskade, keeping one of the most successful producer partnerships in modern dance music active while simultaneously developing his own next chapter. That makes Goldrush 2026 an especially exciting stop. Deadmau5 is coming back to Rawhide with another generation of fans ready to see the mau5head in the desert. Pair that with Alesso, GRiZ and a lineup spanning house, techno, bass and everything in between, and Goldrush has all the ingredients for a weekend that feels bigger than just another festival.
