What to Be for Halloween Based on Your Favorite Artist on the HEX Lineup – Part One

FRI, AUG 21, 2026

Every Halloween, there is one question every raver whose favorite holiday is Halloween eventually has to answer: what are you wearing? Sure, you could throw on a last-minute costume from the nearest Halloween store, but when you are combining two of your favorite things, Halloween and HEX Festival weekend, this is not the time for a basic outfit. When you step into a world of massive bass, dark production, and some of the biggest names in electronic music, your costume should match the energy. From alien invasions and post-apocalyptic survivors to futuristic villains and cosmic explorers, your favorite HEX artist might already have your Halloween identity waiting for you. Whether you are ready to join the Cyclops kingdom, escape Earth, or embrace your villain era, these costume ideas will help you bring the music to life before you even step onto the festival grounds.

Subtronics || Cyclops or Neon Alien Bass Goblin

If Subtronics is your soundtrack for the night, you are not showing up as a regular human. You are entering the Cyclops universe. The obvious choice is going full Cyclops mode with a futuristic, alien-inspired look. Think one-eyed creature details, oversized goggles or visors, glowing accessories, metallic fabrics, and anything that looks like you stepped onto Earth from a strange new planet. Add electric green, purple, and black tones through your makeup, clothing, or accessories to capture that signature Cyclops energy. Want to take it even further? Transform yourself into a neon alien bass goblin. This is where the weird gets celebrated. Start with a black or neon base outfit and build from there with fuzzy textures, glowing pieces, alien antennae, face paint, LED accessories, and anything that feels slightly unhinged.

The goal is to look like the bass turned you into a completely new species. The only rule is simple: the stranger, brighter, and more chaotic, the better.

Excision || Channel Your Post-Apocalyptic Dinosaur Survivor

An Excision set is basically what happens when the world ends, but the speakers are somehow still working. Your costume should look like you just walked out of a futuristic wasteland where dinosaurs, explosions, and 100,000-watt sound systems somehow exist together. Start with distressed black clothing, ripped layers, combat boots, and anything that looks like it has survived a battle. Add dinosaur details with claw gloves, reptile patterns, scales, a tail, or even a prehistoric-inspired helmet. Throw on fake dirt, dark makeup, scratches, and futuristic armor pieces to complete the “I survived the apocalypse and came here for the drop” energy. Bonus points if your outfit looks like a dinosaur joined a Mad Max movie and immediately bought a festival ticket.

ATLiens || Full Alien Abduction Fit (DUH)

There is no subtlety needed here. If you are an ATLiens fan, Halloween is your chance to leave Earth completely behind. Go full extraterrestrial with metallic clothing, silver accessories, reflective sunglasses, alien makeup, and anything that makes people question whether you are attending a festival or arriving from another galaxy. Try a chrome bodysuit, holographic jacket, space-themed accessories, glowing contacts, or a futuristic visor. Add green or blue face details, galaxy-inspired makeup, and accessories that look like they came straight from a spaceship. If your friend group wants to commit, have one person dress as the alien, one as the UFO, and one as the extremely confused human getting abducted.

INZO || Be the Trippy Space Cowboy or Third Eye Mystic

INZO’s energy feels like stepping into another dimension, so your costume should follow the same path.

The Trippy Space Cowboy is perfect for anyone who feels like they left Earth, traveled through the galaxy, and returned with a completely different understanding of the universe. Start with classic western essentials: cowboy hat, boots, denim, fringe, and a little outlaw attitude. Then take it somewhere unexpected with galaxy patterns, neon details, metallic accessories, colorful sunglasses, and psychedelic elements. Add cosmic face paint, star details, glow-in-the-dark accents, or even a futuristic space accessory to create the feeling that you are not just riding horses, you are riding spaceships. Think “country roads meet another dimension.”

The Third Eye Mystic embraces the spiritual and dreamy side of INZO’s sound. Think flowing fabrics, celestial designs, crystals, layered jewelry, robes, and colors inspired by the night sky. Add a painted third eye, galaxy-inspired makeup, mystical symbols, or anything that makes you look like you unlocked another level of consciousness during the drop.

Whether you choose the chaotic cowboy route or the enlightened cosmic traveler, the goal remains the same: look like you found a secret portal somewhere between Earth and the universe and decided to bring the experience to the dance floor.

Layz || Rave Villain or Blacked Out Bass Baddie

Layz brings the kind of energy that makes you feel like you are walking into the festival as the final boss. Her sound is dark, powerful, and fearless, making this the perfect moment to embrace your villain era.

The Rave Villain channels your inner Selene from Underworld and transforms you into a mysterious character straight out of a futuristic vampire war. Think sleek, dark, and powerful rather than a classic Halloween villain. Start with an all-black base: leather pants, a fitted jacket, corset details, combat boots, gloves, or a long coat that moves with you through the crowd. Add futuristic armor pieces, silver hardware, tactical accessories, and sharp details that make the outfit feel battle-ready. Dark sunglasses, dramatic eyeliner, smoky makeup, and a bold lip can instantly transform the look. Take it even further with metallic accents or a sleek hairstyle that gives “I have been waiting centuries for this drop.”

The Blacked Out Bass Baddie leans into the darker side of rave fashion with an outfit that feels powerful, edgy, and built for the dance floor. Think black mesh, vinyl, platform boots, oversized jackets, harness details, chains, and chrome accessories. Add subtle pops of silver or red, like your nails, to make the outfit stand out while keeping that shadowy aesthetic. The goal is to look like you are not attending the rave. You are controlling the atmosphere around you.

At the end of the night, the best Halloween costumes are the ones that make you feel like you stepped into another world. HEX is already bringing the monsters, aliens, warriors, and creatures to Arizona, but the crowd is what completes the experience. Your costume is not just something you wear for a photo. It becomes part of the memory, the story, and the energy you bring into the room. So embrace the weird, commit to the character, and show up ready to become something completely different. Because when the bass drops and the lights hit, the best version of yourself might be the one you create for Halloween.

I found EDM in my early years as a high schooler, with artists like Avicii, Afrojack, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Krewella, and so many others filling my playlists. In 2017, Voodoo Music Festival became my first festival and live music experience, and honestly, I have not stopped since. Since then, I’ve made my way through 20+ music festivals and at least 43 shows that I’ve actually remembered to count, but the numbers have never been the best part. It’s the people I’ve met, the memories made, the unexpected moments, and that feeling of being surrounded by thousands of people who all came to feel something together. I write because I genuinely love this community and the music that brings us together. My hope with every article, review, and story is to capture even a little bit of that feeling and share it with you. I want you to feel the excitement I feel standing in that crowd, hear the details that made a song stick in my heart, and understand just how much I appreciate the artists, fans, and experiences that make this community so special. There is so much magic in this world of music, and I’m just happy I get to be here for it, listen to it, and put some of that love into words.
