There’s a DRAMA Song For That: The Soundtrack to Every Mood, Moment, & Bad Decision

FRI, SEP 18, 2026

Some artists make music for a specific mood. DRAMA makes music for the entire day. The Chicago duo’s dreamy blend of dance, R&B, and electronic soul has a way of fitting into those oddly specific moments that deserve their own soundtrack. From getting ready for the function to setting the tone for the ride there, whether you need an energy shift or some lock-in-tight motivation for work, there’s a DRAMA song for it. Need something to wake you up? They’ve got you. Catching feelings you definitely weren’t planning on? There’s a track for that, too. And when the night goes a little longer than expected, DRAMA has the perfect soundtrack to wind it all back down. Whatever the situation, there’s a DRAMA song for it.

Getting Ready For A Night Out ||  “3AM”

You’re doing your makeup, the outfit finally came together, and suddenly staying home is no longer an option because you look just too good. Smooth, flirty, and just enough anticipation for what the night could become.

Uber/Lyft  to the Function || “Billy”

The city lights are passing by, everyone’s feeling themselves, and the night hasn’t even properly started yet. “Billy” has that effortlessly cool groove that makes the ride actually part of the event.

Locked in & Working || “Forever and a Day”

Groovy enough to keep your brain awake without demanding all of your attention. Perfect for headphones on, notifications off, and somehow getting three hours of work done in one.

Your Hot Girl/Hot Boy Daily Walk || “Low Tide”

Sunglasses on. Walking slightly faster than necessary. Imaginary camera following you. “Low Tide” gives an ordinary walk somewhere the energy of an opening scene.

When You’re Looking for a Vibe Shift ||  “Gimme Gimme”

Maybe you’ve arrived at the party or you’re perhaps trying to liven up the evening. You might be randomly handed the aux and asked to play a banger because we’re at the point where standing around talking is over and everyone needs to dance. Infectious, playful, and practically impossible to listen to without moving, “Gimmie Gimmie” is sure to change the energy of the night.

When You’ve Caught Feelings But Feigning Ignorance || “Years”

For that very specific moment when “we’re just having fun” starts sounding increasingly suspicious. Romantic, vulnerable, and a little dangerous if you’re already thinking about someone. It’ll call you out very personally.

For The Comedown Playlist || “Majid”

Shoes off. Lights low. Maybe eating whatever you found in the fridge while replaying the entire night in your head. Dreamy enough to bring you back down without completely killing the vibe.

Moral of the story is that even if you’re getting ready, going out, falling for someone, getting things done, romanticizing your commute or recovering from questionable decisions the next morning, Chicago legends DRAMA have a song for it.

I found EDM in my early years as a high schooler, with artists like Avicii, Afrojack, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Krewella, and so many others filling my playlists. In 2017, Voodoo Music Festival became my first festival and live music experience, and honestly, I have not stopped since. Since then, I’ve made my way through 20+ music festivals and at least 43 shows that I’ve actually remembered to count, but the numbers have never been the best part. It’s the people I’ve met, the memories made, the unexpected moments, and that feeling of being surrounded by thousands of people who all came to feel something together. I write because I genuinely love this community and the music that brings us together. My hope with every article, review, and story is to capture even a little bit of that feeling and share it with you. I want you to feel the excitement I feel standing in that crowd, hear the details that made a song stick in my heart, and understand just how much I appreciate the artists, fans, and experiences that make this community so special. There is so much magic in this world of music, and I’m just happy I get to be here for it, listen to it, and put some of that love into words.
