THE RESISTANCE Continue Their Meteoric Rise With Upcoming Sunbar Show
THE RESISTANCE have quickly carved out a distinct place in the riddim scene, combining punishing bass with a fully developed world in Star Wars. The anonymous collective emerged in 2024 and has built its identity around masked appearances, Star Wars-inspired visuals and a shared approach to heavy riddim. Their breakout EVIL EMPIRE EP arrived in 2025, with the title track, “EVIL EMPIRE” spending multiple weeks at No. 1 on Beatport’s Dubstep chart and becoming a staple in festival sets. The group has continued expanding that universe rather than slowing down, releasing EVIL EMPIRE (THE REMIXES) in January 2026 with contributions from names including FuntCase, Aweminus, MUERTE, Chibs, and OG Nixin to name a few.
That momentum carried directly into 2026, with THE RESISTANCE unveiling SHADOWCELL, their new audiovisual performance concept. The show debuted at Rampage Weekend in Antwerp where THE RESISTANCE presented SHADOWCELL alongside a lineup that included Sub Focus, Zomboy, Infekt and other major names from the bass and drum & bass scenes. The project then made its way to Lost Lands in September, where THE RESISTANCE took the stage as part of one of the festival’s major riddim-heavy lineup. Their set has since generated significant noise throughout the dubstep community, with fans signaling that they may be the next big name to break into the mainstream riddim scene in ways that we have not seem before.
Arizona gets its own dose of THE RESISTANCE when the collective takes over Sunbar in Tempe on Saturday, November 7. With the collective coming off its 2026 festival run and recent SHADOWCELL performances, the Tempe stop is sure to have some insane energy. Fans can expect a set centered around the dark, cinematic riddim sound and immersive visuals that have become central to the project’s identity.
For anyone who has been following the resurgence of heavy riddim, THE RESISTANCE’s Sunbar appearance is a chance to see one of the scene’s more ambitious projects in a club environment. The group has spent the past two years building more than just a catalog of heavy tracks, using EVIL EMPIRE, its remix campaign and SHADOWCELL to create a connected world around their music. On November 7, THE RESISTANCE will bring its masked collective, crushing riddim and audiovisual production to Sunbar for a night built around the darker side of bass music. Get your tickets before they sell out as this is bound to be one of the heaviest shows of the year.
