Sage DeVault, professionally known as Devault, is an American electronic artist whose sound is
rooted in dark, cinematic, and emotionally driven dance music. His project is defined by
world-building, constant evolution, and a growing ability to translate narrative and mood into
both club records and immersive live performances.
Devault first established his artistic identity through a series of four conceptual tapes released
between 2018 and 2021—Jade, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond—each paired with visual
installments and a focus on industrial electronic textures. Diamond became a formative early
release, featuring “Heaven’s Gates” with Izzy Camina, a track later featured in a Dior Beauty
campaign and M3GAN 2.0, highlighting Devault’s connection to film and fashion.
Alongside his solo work, Devault gained early visibility through official remixes for artists
including Rihanna, 6LACK, 070 Shake, DJ Snake, and Sabrina Claudio, while collaborating with
Bipolar Sunshine, Matt Maeson, and Porches on his debut EP, Stay. A pivotal back-to-back set
with ZHU reshaped his approach to the club environment, leading to collaborations on ZHU’s
album and broader production work with artists such as DJ Snake, RL Grime, and Duke
Dumont.
By 2023, Devault had established himself as a formidable live act, selling out headline shows in
Los Angeles and New York and performing at major festivals including Coachella, Electric
Forest, and HARD Summer. That same period saw releases like “Revelations,” “Take My Soul”
with ZHU, and “Apart of Me” with OTR, followed by the multi-genre EP Sensation featuring
Slayyyter, EKKSTACY, and Tommy Genesis.
Seeking a stronger connection between his songwriting and the dancefloor, Devault spent the
next year refocusing his production entirely on club-driven music. That shift led to releases such
as “Blow Your Braincell” on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records and the 2025 breakthrough single
“Feels Like Us,” released via John Summit’s Experts Only. The record marked a clear turning
point in his sound, following a run of releases, IDs, and unreleased material supported by
tastemakers including Chris Lake, Seth Troxler, Cloonee, Levity, and Tape B.
Now entering 2026, Devault is poised for his biggest year yet. With renewed confidence and a
fully realized direction, he continues to push forward a project that balances cinematic emotion
with high-impact dance music, solidifying his place in the modern electronic landscape.
