Event Description

Relentless Beats, UK Thursdays, and School of Rock present the Rage By The Pound Tour featuring Funtcase, Bare Noize, Schoolboy, and Nerd Rage at Monarch Theatre in Downtown Phoenix on Thursday, October 11, 2012.

Funtcase

James first expressed his love of music through jamming with his schoolmates, taking his energetic and aggressive drumming style from death metal as well as being heavily influenced by happy hardcore and jungle, growing up to a background of Helter Skelter and Dreamscape mixtapes.

Along came Music 2000 and James discovered the world of electronic sound, before an introduction to Reason opened up his eyes to a whole new world of music production beyond pre-made loops.

After hearing ‘Bandwagon Blues’ by Twisted Individual, James fell in love with the drum and bass sound and began to focus his talents on producing. Sharing his tracks with D&B radio stations led to the first recognition of his foot-thumping talents, and a first digital release ‘Unleash’ on Hammer Records followed in 2007, under the alias DJ Dose. He started working with Sensa and Jayline, with several more releases following, and James began to DJ to promote his own sounds.

Bare Noize

Bare Noize have become some of the world’s most sought after producers since their early work in 2009. Instantly you could see that their combined multiple instrument skills, audio engineering and an ear from precision production were going to lay the foundation for them quickly becoming a formidable contender in the electronic producer scene. Their development and consistent drive for improving technique and sound quality can be seen through their initial discography. Tracks such as ‘Chucky’ 2009 and ‘Filth Lummox’ established them as one’s to watch amongst an evolving breed of producers within dub step’s more technical variant. With all eyes on the London based production duo the Foreign Beggars asked them to remix Medison feat. Skrein for their imprint Dented which led to one of the biggest Dubstep anthems of 2010 ‘Harry’.

Monarch Theatre is a new nightclub in downtown Phoenix conveniently located across the street from the 3rd Street / Washington light rail stop. The 1000-plus capacity venue features a big room with a PK sound system second to none. Relentless Beats will be programming Saturdays at the Monarch so stay tuned for more info on more shows.
