Balloon Museum Park
Home of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and New Mexico's premier multi-use outdoor event grounds.

Spanning over 350 acres in North Albuquerque, Balloon Museum Park surrounds the historic Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum. World-famous as the main venue for the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta—the largest hot-air balloon gathering on Earth—the complex features a massive grass launch field, an outdoor amphitheater, paved concourses, and the Event & Golf Center. Throughout the year, the park serves as a versatile venue for major outdoor music festivals, cross-country sporting events, cultural powwows, wine and food tastings, and community gatherings.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
  • Vast Open Field: The main grass field is equivalent to more than 50 soccer fields; wearing comfortable walking shoes, dressing in layers (desert mornings can be chilly), and bringing sun protection are strongly advised.

  • Drone Strict Restriction: Personal drones/UAVs are strictly prohibited across the entire park and surrounding airspace due to low-flying aircraft and hot-air balloon traffic.

PARKING

Expansive surface lots (North and South lots) surround the launch field. On-site parking fees apply during major events and multi-day festivals.

PUBLIC TRANSIT
  • Park & Ride: Dedicated shuttle service hubs operate across Albuquerque during high-traffic events like Balloon Fiesta.

  • Bus: Accessible via ABQ RIDE routes servicing Alameda Boulevard NE and San Mateo Boulevard NE.

  • Rideshare: Designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up zones are established along Balloon Museum Drive during major festivals.

ACCESSIBILITY

Fully ADA compliant with paved main concourses, step-free access to the museum and event hall, designated ADA parking sections, and courtesy transport shuttles operating during major festivals.
