Bear Down Field is a multi-use satellite field operated by University of Arizona Campus Recreation, located directly north of the historic Arizona Stadium. It features artificial turf and field lighting for evening events. It serves as a rental facility for University departments, Greek Life, student organizations, and club sports, hosting activities ranging from soccer and student tailgates to local community gatherings like cultural Pow Wows.
Because it is an open-air turf space, weather-appropriate clothing and hydration are highly encouraged. Event organizers reserving the space must abide by University of Arizona Risk Management policies, which may require specialized liability insurance and campus event monitoring.
On-campus parking is managed by UArizona Parking & Transportation Services. The nearest parking is the Cherry Avenue Garage (located immediately east of the field and Arizona Stadium) and the Second Street Garage (located to the northwest). Parking is subject to hourly or event-specific rates.
Accessible via the Sun Link Streetcar (using stops along University Boulevard or Helen Street/Warren Avenue) and multiple local Sun Tran bus routes serving the university campus.
Paved pedestrian pathways run adjacent to the field. Accessible parking spaces are located in the nearby Cherry Avenue and Second Street Garages.
Allowed items depend heavily on the specific event organizer reserving the field. For university-wide athletic tailgates or ticketed functions, bags must comply with the University of Arizona’s Clear Bag Policy.
Outside of organized, permitted events (such as 21+ Bring Your Own Beer IFC tailgates), alcohol is strictly prohibited. Standard university bans on tobacco, smoking, illicit substances, weapons, and non-service animals apply to all campus recreation fields.
