WestWorld of Scottsdale
Where the West is One.

Owned and operated by the City of Scottsdale, WestWorld is a premier, nationally recognized multi-use special events facility spanning 386 acres at the base of the McDowell Mountains. Originally established in 1987 centered around its deep equestrian roots, the massive venue has evolved into an international destination for high-profile exhibitions. It features the expansive, climate-controlled Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center (TNEC)—comprising over 300,000 square feet of indoor event space—alongside massive multi-use tents, acres of pristine turf, and multiple outdoor arenas. WestWorld plays host to some of the largest annual events in the Southwest, including the world-famous Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, and Arizona Bike Week.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
  • Multiple Entrances: The sprawling grounds feature 3 distinct access points. The Main Entrance is just north of Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd on the northbound Loop 101 access road; the North Entrance sits at 94th St and Bell Rd; the McDowell Mountain Ranch entry opens exclusively for major peak-season events.

  • On-Site RV & Camping: The facility features dedicated RV spaces equipped with utility hookups. Visitors must submit an RV reservation request in advance via the City of Scottsdale portal.

  • Equestrian Services: For horse exhibitors, an on-site Feed and Bedding Store operates northwest of the Operations Office, handling mandatory shavings and feed allocations.

PARKING

Extensive multi-acre on-site surface parking lots wrap around the facility. Parking fees vary entirely depending on the specific event promoter (ranging from free community event access to standard paid lots for major conventions).

PUBLIC TRANSIT

Dedicated rideshare pick-up and drop-off zones are clearly marked near the primary entrance loops during high-traffic expos and music festivals. Standard city bus corridors operate via nearby north-valley transit lines.

ACCESSIBILITY

Fully ADA compliant. The permanent indoor structures, paved corridors, restrooms, and grandstand seating sections are equipped with ramped access, elevators, and step-free entry lines.

PERMITTED
  • Service animals are fully permitted across all indoor and outdoor areas.

  • Domestic pets and horses are permitted in designated arena, barn, and outdoor stall zones depending on the specific event framework.

NOT PERMITTED
  • Outside alcohol and unauthorized catering. Food and beverages are strictly handled by the venue’s exclusive vendor partner, M Culinary.

  • Importing outside wood shavings or stall bedding is strictly prohibited due to agricultural health codes (must be ordered through the on-site store).
