YetepOn Monday, Le Castle Vania released his debut EP, Prophication, on Deadmau5’s Mau5trap label.
The four-track EP exemplifies Le Castle Vania’s aesthetic of using instrumental melody as the driving force behind each song layered with heavy bass drum to darken the overall tone of each song. The EP is mastered beautifully. Each instrumental layer has its own flow and identity, but incorporate well with other layers even when there are a lot of effects coming in and out of each song. “Incarnation” and “Disintegration” are stand out tracks in the EP because of the tension they build on the bridge before introducing the listener to the choruses. The use of vocals in “Disintegration” gives the song an eerie, haunting quality. Norma Jean frontman, Cory Brandan lends his vocals to the opening track, “Raise the Dead”.
Definitely looking forward to additional tracks from this EP before 2013 is over. Download Prophication now available on Beatport and iTunes. Catch him on tour in a city near you!
