YetepBaauer will forever be known for “Harlem Shake,” but he has released a new track that’s a little bit of a departure from his earlier material. The new track is titled “Clang,” and samples Buedi Siebert‘s “body percussion.” But let’s not forget about “Harlem Shake.”
“And a little bit about how you recorded the first little bit of the song with the sort of sound, the slapping sound,” says Baauer. “That was like, that was like, [umm] I was lying naked, in the studio and they would put microphones on my belly, on my breasts, you know – on my legs,” says Siebert. “And [umm] then I would have oil all over my body and then I began to [umm] ‘play’ on my body . . . ”
Is this a new beginning for Baauer? The track has understated bass and traditional string accents, but the official release suggested more material from Baauer, would be arriving soon. He has kept largely under the radar since “Harlem Shake,” releasing a few tracks. Excited to see if he can top the success of “Harlem Shake.”
