YetepThe youngest of Claude VonStroke’s proteges, Justin Jay brings us two fresh, end of Summer anthems. Dirtybird brings us the last of his college-dorm style productions, as he’s now a free man, where the only things he needs to study are the dirty beats he’s laying down. Following his string of heavy hitting releases (Femme Fatale, Static, Instincts, Le Voyou), Justin Jay gives us the cheekily titled, ‘Hit It.’
Dirty, loaded beats adorn a creepy, vocoder-aided vibe, before double claps kick in and that drop hits… oh, that drop! Thick, juicy sub bass greets some guttural grunts, before the eerie “Hit itttttt… quitttttt it” vocals return once again. This one just sounds like Halloween to me, two months too soon. Nothing wrong with that though.
You can preview ‘Rain Dance,’ a second summer anthem from the young Californian, below.
