Random People Guess Who Skrillex Is

I’m sure many of you reading this know who Skrillex is. That short guy with a weird haircut that makes crazy dubstep and is often seen with Diplo. But surprisingly enough, when amongst random strangers not many of them actually knew who he was.

Sonny Moore got his start in 2008 as a frontman in a hardcore band, and has moved his way to one of the biggest names in edm. In 2009 he moved into the studio remixing the likes of Lady Gaga (“Bad Romance”) and Snoop Dogg (“Sensual Seduction”). In 2010, the self-released digital download EP My Name Is Skrillex came out followed by Skrillex’s signing to Deadmau5‘s Mau5trap label in, where he released his second EP, Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites, along with the club hit “Kill Everybody.” A trio of Grammy Awards in 2011 then came along, including Best Dance/Electronica Album for Scary Monsters and Best Dance Recording for the title track. Skrillex is now a part of the collaborative effort Jack Ü with Diplo, but still continues to make his own stuff as well.

Who Is Skrillex?

Skrillex will soon be performing in the Snake Pit in Indianapolis for the Indy 500, and WISH-TV decided to make things fun and go around asking locals if they knew who Skrillex was. Its shocking to see how even with the global popularity of Jack Ü’s ‘Where Are U Now,’ some people still have no clue who he is. Skrillex himself even shows some locals some of his most popular songs to let them in on his magic. Skrillex will be joining Martin Garrix, Zeds Dead and others at the Snake Pit on May 29th.
