RB Weekend Preview: Solid Thinking for the Weekend
So what’re you thinking about doing this weekend? Go to the park, read a book? Maybe go for a hike with some friends and get lunch? What about at 9:00 PM on Saturday March 5th? Hopefully nothing because if you really want to do some solid thinking and pick the perfect event for yourself, you absolutely have to make your way over to Monarch Theater and check out Amtrac and his new EP “Solid Thinking”. Alongside with Hotel Garuda, the two are hitting Arizona with their Lost In Motion Tour, and with good timing as Amtrac slowly leaks his new EP.
Amtrac, real name Caleb Cornett, has been pushing his creative limits as a producer, DJ, musician and sometimes-vocalist since 2008. The multi-talented artist can electrify an audience, be it with a moving live music performance or by working dancefloors up to a sweat with his driving yet funk-filled DJ sets – it’s his mantra to be as diverse a DJ as possible, to connect with the crowd and to keep them moving at all costs.
Hotel Garuda consists of Manila Killa and Candle Weather, who met in middle school in Indonesia. Drawing influences from the likes of Thomas Jack, Bakermat, Cashmere Cat, and Julius Jetson, just to name a few, the group has found success in creating a unique house sound that many are enjoying. While they haven’t been around for quiet the amount of time, only two years or so, they definitely don’t hold back and are ready to bring a great set of music anywhere they go.
While this is the only Relentless Beats event going on this weekend, that doesn’t mean we can’t do some solid thinking ourselves and make our way over to Monarch this weekend for these incredibly dope sets that are about to get thrown on the dance floor! What's up everybody! My name is Eric Alexander, although feel free to call me The Kid Eric, which is my DJ name. I'm a recent college graduate who started with Relentless Beats back in October 2015. My dream is to be a headliner DJ, but if that doesn't happen, then what I'm doing right now is perfectly alright. As long as I got my music and good vibes. My favorite music is anything with a lot of bass in it. Bass house, dubstep, DnB, trap, and whatever else there is out there that I can put my hands on. I think it's easier to just call me a bass head really. That's pretty much there really is to me. After all, I'm just a kid doing what he loves.
