Troyboi Dips His Toe in the Waters of Deep House with New Single “And Wot?”

The London based producer Troyboi is one of the top up-and-coming artists in the scene right now. He is known for producing extraordinarily unique, versatile, and highly musical tracks that fuse various textures from multiple genres. His usual styles and genres are Trap, Hip-hop, and Future Bass, but now his repertoire has the addition of Deep House because of his newly released single “And Wot?”. Check out Troyboi’s single “And Wot?”, which was recently released by Parlophone Records.

This track is a cross between Future House and UK Garage. It has the short rubber bassline and the crisp kick drum and hi-hat pattern from Future House. The track also bears elements of UK Garage, such as the shortened brass synths, the unexpected switches in beat pattern, and the change of the vocal’s pitch level constantly throughout the track. While this genre is fairly new to Troyboi, he did not forget to add his unique sounds into the track: original vocal samples, and the snake charm hook on the second drop of the track. This track is already at 160k plays on Soundcloud in just 9 days since the released.

Troyboi will be at Phoenix Lights this weekend at Margaret T Hance Park. He will be playing on Sunday, along with many other headliner like DJ Snake, Dr. Fresch, MK, and Claude Vonstroke. I can’t wait to listen to this track over a massive festival sound system. Phoenix Lights is going to be lit, all puns intended.
