Check Out the Electronic Music Winners at the Billboard Music Awards!

Alright music fanatics. This weekend was the weekend. Where the best were nominated, and the best of the best walked away as a winner. That’s right, I am talking about Billboard Music Awards!

Top Dance/Electronic Song: Since March 2, 2015 this song has been dominating the charts. It has been streamed over 526 million times on Soundcloud, it ranked as the number 1 song in 8 various countries, it has been ranked number 2 in the UK singles charts, and ranked number 4 on US Billboard top 100. Do I need to say more? This song is fire and you know it too. You probably even know every word to this song. The winner of Dance/Electronic Song goes to DJ Snake and Major Lazer for “Lean On.”

Top Dance/Electronic Album: I have been raving about this artist for the [ast couple of weeks. His huge heart and amazing talent has really shined through so it is great to see this guy get some recognition for his skilled work.  The Top Dance/Electronic Album winner is Zedd for his sophomore album, True Colors. The first single of this album, “I Want You to Know,” was released on February 23, 2015 with Selena Gomez. This album features various artists including Logic, Jon Bellion, and many more. Over a year since the first single’s release, in April 2016, True Colors is still getting recognition as Zedd recently dropped his collab with Ke$ha, “True Colors.”

Top Dance/Electronic Artist: Last but not least, this Frenchman has been in this industry since 1984. He is an OG. He has seen and contributed to the progressive movement of electronic music from the underground scene to becoming mainstream. The Top Dance/Electronic Artist is David Guetta! David Guetta is the first artist to reach 2 million streams on Spotify. He has also released 6 albums including his latest Listen. David Guetta’s career is going in a much more unique direction than other electronic artists. This French DJ is now opening and closing the UEFA ceremony and has released the official song for this futbol tournament with his track “This One’s For You.” Check out Guetta’s two new releases from the last two weeks.
