YetepEverybody and their mother splurged on a ticket to be mesmerized by the magic that is Flume on his recent tour stint in the United States. His second and latest album, Skin, is hands down the best album of this year and arguably of this lifetime, and if you don’t believe me, check out the whopping ELEVEN ARIA awards it was nominated for.
ARIA, the Australian Recording Industry Association, hosts an annual series of award nights to honor Australian artists and celebrate the progression of the music industry. Harley Streten, A.K.A. electronic producer Flume, already has a lot to celebrate as he’s recieved the most nominations in a single year in ARIA history, and has already won three of them.
Flume won Best Engineer, Producer of the Year, and Best Cover Art because of Skin, his latest and second album.
Flume is also nominated for:
Best Video (Never Be Like You ft. Kai)
Album of the Year (Skin)
Song of the Year (Never Be Like You ft. Kai)
Best Dance Release (Skin)
Best Pop Release (Never Be Like You ft. Kai)
Best Independent Release (Skin)
Best Male Artist (Skin)
Best Australian Live Performance (St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2016)
The electro elitist accepted his three awards via video while touring the United States, and revealed that he’ll be performing at the award ceremony, also the ceremony’s 30th anniversary, on November 30 where he’ll compete to dominate the remaining eight categories.
In 2015, Flume was nominated for Best Video due to “Some Minds” ft. Andrew Wyatt, and in 2014, he was up for the Best Dance Release award for his collaboration with Chet Faker, “Drop The Game.”
In 2013, Flume’s self-titled debut album dropped and raked in an impressive seven nominations, and was victorious in four; Best Male Artist, Producer of the Year, Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist.
At just 24 years old, Flume’s success is astonishing…and about to get 11 awards more impressive.
