YetepFlume has grown to be quite the legend over the years with an outrageous fanbase and distinct and atmospheric sound inspired by house and UK garage. He stole the hearts of many with his first EP in 2011, Sleepless, his solo album titled FLUME the following year, and blew everyone away with his 2016 album that was long awaited, Skin.
Flume has had a remarkable year with the release of Skin, as well as it’s world tour and a companion EP. As he prepares to bring the Skin tour to a close, he stopped by Triple J’s radio station in his hometown for their Like A Version Series with some beautiful performances up his sleeve.
Joined by the tracks original vocalist Kai and three additional singers including Kučka, who appears on two of Skin’s tracks, Vera Blue and Ngaiire, Flume performed a delicate and peaceful rendition of his 2016 double platinum single, ‘Never Be Like You.’ This rendition takes you into a heavenly realm that the track has never seen before, and just might give you the goosebumps.
Flume’s second performance was a cover of ‘Boo’ with the three background vocalists from his first performance, and another one of his collaborator’s, Vince Staples. Flume reworks the 1995 classic track into a future bass blowout with his genius futuristic skills.
Now who’s ready to see what Flume has in store for 2017?
