DJ to Watch: Ramzoid

My interest in Ramzoid was peaked within the first 45 seconds of listening to his “It’s Strange” remix by Louis The Child. Since, I have followed him closely, patiently waiting for his inevitable rise to the top. The sparkly and enchanting sounds of Ramzoid are incomparable to any other right now. He has an innovative take on producing and is trail blazing a sound that transports his listeners into a candy-coated dream state. His musical talent is showcased in all of his songs, but dramatically in his remix of Flume‘s “Wall Fuck”. As one of the most high frequency and staticy sounding songs,  it takes a skilled producer to transform it into a fragile and effervescent tune as he and Gramatik did. It would be prudent to add him to your list of DJ’s to watch.

Aside from his high quality music, he also immerses himself if other music related projects to keep his talents sharp and opportunities at his fingertips. Soda Island is a collection of like-producers and friends who make music and uplift moods everywhere. Similar to Lido’s Fofofadi Foodchain, this group of producers created a fairyland escape with a friendly collection of friends. The Inhabitants of Zoda Island are: Izzard, Ramzoid, Grynpyret, Avionics, RefraQ, Xander Lewis, Spire. As they describe it Soda Island is, “A hidden island with a range of musical inhabitants. An oasis for lazy naps and magical discovery”. Pack your floaties and fizzy drinks, Ramzoid’s music on Soda Island are waiting for you. If that already doesn’t make him the coolest guy ever, he also put out weekly YouTube videos that differ from most. He doesn’t just show how he creates his music he takes his experimentation one step farther. He plays a video game, records the audio samples, and creates legitimately good songs in a matter of minutes.
