Kevin Gates Releases 3-Track EP ‘Chained to the City’

Kevin Jerome Gilyard, who you more likely know as Kevin Gates, the American rapper, and singer behind the hit single, “2 Phones,” just released his latest project, a 3-track EP entitled Chained to the City. The EP  contains the tracks “Change Lanes,” “Vouch,” and “Let It Sing.” Check it out below!

The release came as a surprise for many, though Gates did hint at his return to music when he announced his first tour dates in February. Regardless, fans are reveling in long-awaited new material from the artist after a short hiatus due to time in prison.

Kevin Gates began his career in 2005 when he signed to a local label, Dead Game Records, in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He quickly gained success as he collaborated with fellow Baton Rouge natives, Boosie Badazz and Webbie on a mixtape, Pick of Da Litter, in 2007. A series of mixtapes followed, and his first debut album, Islah, was released in January of 2016, which peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Gates is currently signed to Bread Winners’ Association with a partnership with Atlantic Records.

You can catch Kevin Gates at Goldrush this September alongside Rich The Kid, Vince Staples, and more. Grab your tickets here.
