YetepSan Diego-based DJ/producer Mikey Lion is known for bringing his eccentricity and high energy into each and every one of his sets. He’s played such festivals as Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, and Coachella, while simultaneously gaining support from the likes of Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, and Green Velvet. If there’s one thing Mikey does well, it’s getting the party started.
This week’s RB Deep in the Mix is Mikey Lion’s live set from the 2018 Desert Hearts Festival. Check it out below.
Clocking in right at two hours, this set will fulfill your feel-good, funky music dreams, but of course, we’d expect nothing less from Mikey Lion. The feathered-hat sporting DJ often incorporates a variety of elements in his music, including those from tribal, hip-hop, and experimental genres.
Lions is one of the co-founders of the Desert Hearts Crew, a record label and movement devoted to celebrating life, love, and music. Today, the Desert Hearts Festival sits at the top of the North American festival scene, thanks to pioneers like Lion and other members of his crew.
You can catch Mikey Lion and more of the Desert Hearts crew at Goldrush Music Festival coming up this September. Get more info and grab your tickets here.
