Relentless Beat of the Week: Said The Sky – ‘Over Getting Over You’

FRI, JUN 1, 2018

When it comes to hitting you in the feels, Said The Sky does not hold back. Instead, the multi-talented DJ and producer aims right for your heart with his melodic and dreamy sound. Originating from Denver, Colorado, Said The Sky, born Trevor Christensen, spent his childhood learning to play various instruments, including the piano – a talent that rapidly blossomed and stuck with him long into his adult musical career. Today, the artist holds his own alongside frequent collaborators like Illenium, Said The Sky, 3LAU, and Dabin, combining his fresh perspective on music with a background of technical training to produce music with an innovative and precisive sound.

This week’s Relentless Beat of the Week is Said The Sky’s latest single, “Over Getting Over You.” Take a listen below.

Featuring a variety of instruments, including piano and guitar, as well as emotive vocals from Matthew Koma, “Over Getting Over You” sets the tone for what’s on the horizon from Said The Sky. His debut LP, Wide-Eyed, is set to be released on July 20, via Seeking Blue, and if this track is any indication of the upcoming album, he’s clearly poured his heart and soul into this one.
