YetepThere are so many sub-genres in EDM that you could spend hours trying to decipher them all. Though most artists tend to stick to a specific style or sub-genre, the duo um.. completely breaks the stereotype. Consisting of Ben Bruce and Dylan Gold, the two created um.. with, according to their Spotify bio, “a belief that there is a creative void in the electronic music space their music can fill.” Each of their songs contains its own personality, which is an aspect that makes ‘um..’ extremely unique in their own regard.
Their newest track, “nothin to say,”is cryptic and extraterrestrial. The opening of the song gives off a sense of secrecy and alludes to a hidden type of sound. By the time the track gets into the thirty-second mark, it abducts you into a hypnotic and trippy experience.
was released earlier this month under Zeds Dead’s Deadbeat label. This label is known to churn out fire tracks and has been an important and passionate project of Zeds Dead since its’ inception. This track is the first one to be released by the duo on this label. With a track like “nothin to say” I cannot wait to see what is next for these two.
