YetepWhen it comes to mind-warping bass music, it’s hard to find someone who does it better than Space Jesus, aka Jasha Tull. The Philly-based DJ and producer has effectively branded each track he produces as his own with his idiosyncratic bass-fueled, psychedelic, hip-hop flavor that is consistently fresh and captivating. For this week’s Relentless Beat of the Week, get ready to melt your mind with Space Jesus’ “Professor Genius.”
Starting with an ominous vocal sample and a simple build, the track transitions into a growl of bass that will surely raise your neck hairs. “Professor Genius” is trippy track that solidifies Tull’s spot as one of the most creative acts in the bass music scene today.
“Professor Genius” is a collaboration with fellow East Coast bass music producer Esseks. The two are no strangers to teaming, as they collaborated back in 2015 on an entire 8-track album, Doppelbangers.
Space Jesus has been busy this summer with multiple sets at Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, and now he’s making his way to Phoenix for Bassrush Massive Arizona on August 25. You can see the full lineup and grab your tickets here.
