Silk City & Dua Lipa Create ‘Electricity’ Together

If you aren’t yet familiar with Silk City, now is the time. First announced earlier this year, Diplo and Mark Ronson have proved to be a magnificent duo fluent in house jams. Their first performance was at this year’s Governor’s Ball and since then Silk City has released four tracks with the likes of Desiigner and GoldLink, and most recently, “Electricity” with Dua Lipa. On Beats 1 Ronson talked about the record, saying, “This has always been a special thing. It’s one of the first things that we wrote when Diplo and I got together last summer. It really represents –more than anything–the best synthesis of what we love.” With an equally electrifying music video, this song has been making rounds at an explosive rate.

Dua Lipa is no stranger to the electronic scene. She’s worked with notable producers such as Martin Garrix and most recently Calvin Harris on the massive hit “One Kiss.” Her sultry voice takes the lead on “Electricity,” backed by prominent piano chords, lux tempos, and dancehall influence. The video features Lipa dancing in a dark loft during the infamous New York power outage while Mark Ronson and Diplo get stuck playing with flashlights in an elevator.
