YetepYou may have heard of Phantoms from their 2018 collaboration with Vanessa Hudgens, “Lay With Me,” or perhaps from their 2017 remix of Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine.” If neither of those ring a bell, read on, because it’s about time you’re filled in on one of the most exciting new House acts on the scene.
The duo is made up of Kyle Kaplan and Vinnie Pergola, two childhood friends from Los Angeles. The pair released their debut album only two years ago, but it was met with tremendous success. The track “Just a Feeling” from the album received over 5,000 downloads and charted on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart at number 40.
What many might not know about Kaplan and Pergola is that their performing career actually started in the acting realm. As teenagers, both made appearances on various Disney family TV shows, as well as on successful series like CSI: Miami and the Bernie Mac Show.
After switching gears and diving head first into the dance music industry, Phantoms have already established their own idiosyncrasies. Drawing from classic rock influences like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, the duo’s sound spans all genres, yet is always dance-floor approved.
Be sure to catch Phantoms at Shady Park on Friday, September 13. Grab tickets here!
