Radio Recap: Swamplex Radio #036 Hosted by 12th Planet

As one of the first champions for dubstep in the US, John Dadzie, known by his project’s name 12th Planet, has yet to cease building on his massive dub empire. The former wrestler first blazed a trail for himself and other hopefuls to come with early co-signs from Rusko and Skream and a feature on Diplo‘s “Blow Your Head” compilation. Now, 12th Planet calls himself commander of his labels Smog Records and Discipline Records, a veteran of festivals like EDC and HARD, and a collaboration with Skrillex for their Grammy-winning track “Right On Time.” While he’s still grinding on new feats like his Swamplex Next Level 2020 Tour, 12th Planet still finds time to host new episodes of his radio show, Swamplex Radio. 12th Planet starts with his energetic salutations and introductions of what to expect for the second episode of 2020. In addition to his “DUBPLATE SPESH” openings and premieres from EH!DE and Versa, 12th Planet follows his own features with a special guest mix from the duo Bandlez, who also sits down for an interview with the “Johnny Appleseed” of dubstep. The boys discuss their name origin, how they met, and life in and outside of music. From the music selection to the flow of the interview, Swamplex Radio is whatever 12th Planet wants to make it, which often is a goofy, headbangin’ time.
