Remix Recall: ‘XYZ’ – deadmau5 (NERO Remix)

This week’s Remix Recall we’re focusing on some absolute legends! World-renowned electronic musician deadmau5 and UK trio NERO have collided their worlds once again! After remixing deadmau5’s track “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” back in 2009, NERO are back with their latest rendition of deadmau5’s most recent single “XYZ”.

Although deadmau5 and NERO have yet to work on an official collaboration together, this remix proves to be another reason why they should! NERO takes deadmau5’s nine and a half minute  “XYZ” and trims it down to a five-minute edit with some fast tracking synths and driving beats. 

“XYZ” is the lead cut off of deadmau5’s We Are Friends Volume 11 Compilation and NERO will be providing support on deadmau5’s We Are Friends tour this fall! Since 2012, the We Are Friends music compilation series has promised to put a focus on fresh, newly discovered talent from deadmau5’ mau5trap label and has done a great job in doing so.
