ALLEYCVT Drops Triumphant Wubaholics Anthem, ‘Miss U Again’

Los Angeles-based dubstep superstar ALLEYCVT is back with yet another knockout track. The song, titled “Miss U Again” features bombastic bass, pleasant wubs, and ALLEYCVT’s trademark vocals. The song is here after some live teasers and the finished product exceeds expectations! ALLEYCVT is firing on all cylinders here. There are so many little auditory discoveries to make over multiple listens. Over-ear headphones are definitely recommended for this one.

“Miss U Again” begins with a brain massage of bass, atmospheric clicks, and ALLEYCVT’s standout vocals: “You know when it gets like this, no we could never be friends. I could see us falling back, a cycle that never ends” sings Alleycvt over beautiful digital strings and heartbeat-like drums. “But I don’t want to live that way, oh though it tears me to shreds.”

This line is interesting to me for a couple of reasons. First, in a lyrical and narrative sense. “But I don’t want to live that way” could be referring to either the “no we could never be friends” or the “cycle that never ends” lines. Both of these situations are likely to result in someone being “torn to shreds” in different ways. Not having someone in your life can be devastating, but so can toxic cycles. This is a great lyrical and creative decision. Well done!

The vocal delivery of this also stands out to me. Alley’s voice has a distinct edginess to it on the “tears me to shreds” portion that shows off her ever-expanding vocal range and eye for detail. Amazing! This line also demonstrates her ability to belt it, placing great emotional emphasis (and effort) on the word “shreds.” These incredible vocals pair with equally impressive production to create songs full of life and depth.

The chorus continues over an intense drum build “No I, don’t want to miss you again. DON’T WANT TO MISS YOU AGAIN!”

The drop is super wonky and accompanied by echoing Alleycvt vocals, luminous backing effects, and rising/falling splashes of bass. The bass shifting the tone and tempo of the drop. Another genius creative decision. “Miss U Again” also features a pitched-up bridge with soaring crescendoes, as Alley’s vocals make their dramatic return. However, the instrumentation behind her vocals sounds completely different this time around. Euphoric bass, shimmering glitches, and fuzzy undertones all come together. This creates a grimy, classic Nintendo-like beat that marches on like an 8-bit army. I LOVE IT!

The last minute of the song is an extremely diverse soundscape. Ending with extra fuzzy distortion, numerous bass spirals, glitchy reset effects, and an aquatic, crystalline shatter effect. These are some of the hidden treasures that I mentioned earlier in this article.

Listen above to hear the newest release from one of 2024’s top artists. Alleycvt is making waves in the U.S. and abroad. Appearing in numerous festivals, supporting shows and headlining shows alike. Her sets are an indescribable experience that you have to see for yourself. Have fun and rave on!
