INFEKT Drops Intense EP, ‘VEGGIE GAMES’ on Monstercat Uncaged

Following the releases of standout singles “BEAMS” and “Play It Twice,” bass virtuoso INFEKT today dropped his highly-anticipated ‘VEGGIE GAMES’ EP on Monstercat Uncaged.

The rise of INFEKT as a primary act in the bass/riddim realm has been nothing short of explosive. With a high demand on the live circuit, he has electrified audiences worldwide, performing at major festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Rampage Open Air, Lost Lands, and more. His recent headlining tour, spanning over 40 stops selling over 16,500 tickets, sold out in nearly every major North American city, including Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle, Tampa, Vancouver, and beyond. INFEKT’s powerful discography resonates across the mainstage, with industry heavyweights such as Skrillex, Four Tet, Subtronics, NGHTMRE, and Marshmello (who he shares a collaboration with), frequently featuring his tracks in their sets.

“BEAMS” and “Play It Twice” are now joined by six powerful new tracks on VEGGIE GAMES, showcasing INFEKT’s gritty, piercing bass sounds in full force. This eight-track package is a testament to INFEKT’s prowess, blending his OG-influenced styles with fresh, innovative sound designs. Each record pushes the boundaries of bass music through niche production techniques and tools. Notably, INFEKT utilizes Bitwig’s Spectral Suite to create distinctive basses, highlighting his technical mastery and vision. Drawing inspiration from his electrifying live shows, INFEKT channels the energy and intensity of his tours into VEGGIE GAMES – the result is a cohesive experience that reflects the raw power of himself captivating audiences around the globe.

“Beams” is a glitchy masterpiece with well-incorporated samples and seamless production. Bouncing space lasers roll in and out like a weaving starship. Beefy synths grind and squeak while bass droplets rain from the skies. Head-bobbing and a thorough bass face are maintained throughout. Rapid drums lead us into a wormhole before the chunky instrumentals return with full force. Chirping undertones add a subtle atmospheric tone. “MOMENTUM” is a certified Riddim Heater!! Squeaks, cymbals, and warping effects lead to buzzing bass and wonky downtempo instrumentals. The bass and synths are as sharp and a scythe. Intense samples echo over the pleasant Riddim loop. “MOMENTUM” is a metallic soundscape and rolls out The Red Carpet for new and experienced Riddim Heads alike.

“X-Ray” begins with blaring, red-tinted alarms and puddles of bass. “Here are powerful Rays being given off.” Powerful and slow-moving blasts of bass transform into crisp, shredding instrumentals. Twisting around the sample like a steel snake. “HEY, HOLD IT!” Bass walls expand in and out. Digital PLAMPS provide the track with a heavy rhythm before blasting outward. Occasional clanging effects give the instrumentals a quick break while they tap along. More alarm effects gradually rise and fall in intensity as the instrumental charges back up. Thick droplets count down to a barrage of bass and lasers. “RADIOACTIVE!” The bobbing and weaving continues over a steady drum pattern. The walls crash in and out before the lasers go into overdrive. Blasting away countless proverbial meteors along the way. This is an INTENSE and heavy track with an impeccable use of samples.

“No Flex” is the next stop on our riddim journey. Glitch effects, thick bubbles, and a vocal sample immediately greet us. “I’m Successful. I don’t flex, I’m successful. Ever do this?” The bubbles and glitch effects are joined by intense bass waves. Gradually increasing in intensity. A techno-inspired drum pattern thumps like a rapid heartbeat. Reforming into pointy Riddim scales. Buzzing along before folding and unfolding itself into multiple forms. An undercurrent of laser shots fires off before the bubbles and bass come back. The glitch effects are much more intense here. The vocals distort with the rolling instrumental. Moving around like a freeform ghost. SO GOOD. “Tempest” begins on a chiller note. Ominous keys tick along with equally ominous laughter. There is a bit of a jazzy feel to this one (at first). Techno/jazz hybrid drumbeats keep up the rhythm. Sweeping edges dance with jazz cymbals before a voice exclaims, “INFEKT!” The Riddim vibes return with the inclusion of eerie creaks and moans. The Riddim waves change like the tide. Intense clangs and aquatic effects bring back the jazz drums. Elements cascade and warp before bringing us back to the loop. This loop grows more ferocious as the eerie wails continue.

“READ ONLY” is a video game derived wonderland. Digital warbles ring off under the spongy instrumentals. Transforming into a liquid brain massage. Coin effects alert us of our progress. Subtle guitar notes give this track a bit of a Wild West feel at times. Stretchy bass waves conclude such an incredible track. The final track, “GOOP” is aptly named. “GOOP” combines different elements introduced previously in the VEGGIE GAMES EP. Alarms, lasers, and bass sputters go off. Ticking leads to laughter. “GOOP” then takes on a bit of a Tipper-like feel to it. Electric instrumentals and distorted drum hits lead to eclectic riddim wonks. Radio waves buzz as alarms and lasers intensely ring off. Atmospheric aesthetics pleasantly contrast with the more intense track elements. Bass continues to splash, spiral, and crash before one last laugh closes out the EP.

“‘VEGGIE GAMES’ has some of my proudest work to date. Over the last year I’ve progressed so much in sound design, mixdown, and overall quality, and I’m stoked to finally reveal it. Every track has a different flavor and influence: Some styles are more OG, some ultra futuristic, some deeper and understated – all inspired by the incredible energy people have been bringing to my shows and my unstoppable hunger to find new ways to create crazy bass sounds and flows!”
