YetepWith one of the biggest switchups of 2024, Barclay Crenshaw returned from ruling the tech house genre to bass music. Barclaw Crenshaw made his name in the house music industry under the alias Claude Vonstroke. As Claude Vonstroke, he has built an enormous following and one of the premier tech house record labels in Dirtybird. In his return to performing as Barclay Crenshaw, he has made one of the most unique albums of the year. Open Channel made waves through the bass industry. It is a mixture of wubs, trap, and funky bass beats. Open Channel – New Frequencies (Deluxe) is the remix album of Open Channel and brings some of the best remixes from artists who opened for Barclay on his most recent tour.
The New Frequencies version of Open Channel brings six new remixes from artists like LYNY and sfam with all kinds of new twists of some of the favorite singles from the album. These remixes were some of the hottest tunes played on the tour. The Super Future remix is one of my favorites for how different it is to the original. I love putting an insane dubstep drop on songs that don’t already have them. Super Future uses futuristic synths to transform the “King of Monsters” into a whole new monster. These new remixes are a welcome start to the new year. Be sure to stay tuned in for new releases and music all year long.
