YetepOf The Trees has cemented his place in the EDM scene. His style mixes atmospheric sounds straight out of nature. His woodland sound design also features surreal echoes and wonderful wubs. He has collaborated with notable artists like John Summit (“Stay With Me“) and Esseks (“Business Tripping”). His live sets are are always incredible and immersive spectacles, adding to his mythos as an artist.
LYNY is one of my favorite artists to emerge from the underground. He thoroughly impressed me from the start. I saw him open up for Zingara and LSDREAM at the Mesa Amphitheater a while back. His main discography is great on its own, but the best bangers can be found on hisSoundCloud profile. This includes “My Pokemon Died,” one of my favorite SoundCloud exclusive releases of all time. His unique sound design and specialty brand of wubs set him apart from the pack.
What happens when these two incredible artists collide? You get “Hollow,” which is simply a MASTERPIECE. It was teased at numerous festivals through out the year, finally dropping earlier this month. It features a woodland themed cover with a deer and a variety of other nature elements.
“Hollow” begins with gradual waves and hypnotic vocals. The vocals shift from a woman to a man, adding a sprinkle of hip-hop to the mix. We are dropped directly into a maze of rumbling bass, and razor-sharp wubs. Bumping frequencies rise and fall along with the drums and hints of OTT’s patented forest sound. The sound waves turn super plampy before fading into a bridge. “Hollow” ramps back up with crystalline drums and surreal bass. This next drop changes things up and features LYNY’s calling card. Alarms ring out as the bass becomes absolutely. MENACING. The melody is brought back before fading out into glory. This highly anticipated collaboration was well worth the wait and DOES NOT disappoint.
