Liquid Stranger & TVBOO Collaborate on the Frequency-Bending Single, ‘Cracked’

Liquid Stranger is an absolute master of sound. His extensive career and discography show off his talents, while he record label, WAKAAN, demonstrates his business acumen. He has worked with several EDM artists, giving him the reputation as an eager and dedicated collaborator. EVERYONE wants to work with this incredible machine of an artist. The latest of these collaborators is blue-collar bass king TVBOO. TVBOO’s sense of humor and innovative sound design make him the PERFECT collaborator for the WAAKAN mastermind to work with. I have been waiting for a collaboration with these two titans for a long time. That day is finally here and the boys absolutely DELIVERED!

This highly-anticipated collaboration is called “Cracked” and is featured on Liquid Stranger’s Voyager EP. The track immediately welcomes us to a surreal and atmospheric wonderland. Sounds from multiple vibes and cultures blend together to create a pleasant and immersive introduction. A classic Liquid Stranger trait. The introduction starts ticking like a clock as a mist rises from the ground. Flutes and Vocals chime in with a memorable hook:

“It go boom, boom, bap. Yeah we got it like that. Kick drum hit, your whole body go cracked.”

A steady undercurrent of synth flows beneath the vocals as the track intensifies. The drums create a steady rhythm that leads into a build up. Bass walls expand and contract between track segments. Spirals float through the air like stars into the first drop. A wubby alien squeal is cut with trap-inspired crashes. These intergalactic squeals get even more wubby in the second part of the drop. The transitions between these elements are very well-executed.

Hard-hitting drums and the hook build hype for the next drop. The second drop dramatically switches between frequencies, taking on a whole new sound than the first. “Cracked” fades out with a majestic replay of the introduction, ending on a sudden drum beat.

This collaboration exceeded my expectations. “Cracked” dramatically switches between vibes and frequencies, while still remaining coherent. The passion that both artists put into this release shine through in every moment. This collaboration was incredible and I hope to see Liquid Stranger and TVBOO work together in the future.
