deadmau5 Making Monumental Headline Return to Goldrush: Midnight Riders
Goldrush 2026 has just announced its behemoth of a lineup and it is “every millennial raver’s dream line up” user heyitsmickx summed up perfectly on one of Goldrush’s Instagram posts. Martin Garrix, Alesso, GRiZ and deadmau5 are closing out the two-day festival taking place at Arizona’s own Rawhide Event Center. Deadmau5 is finally making his return to Goldrush, after headlining the festival’s second rendition back in 2018.
Joel Zimmerman, also known as deadmau5, hit the mainstream audience with the release of “Faxing Berlin” in 2007, and he has not looked back ever since. From having his own record label, mau5trap, to helping discover/popularize artists such as Rezz and Skrillex (even releasing both of their debut EPs/albums on mau5trap), there is a reason he is the self-proclaimed “Goat Lord.”
His music has stood the test of time, and yet, he continues to produce new music, with dedicated fans eagerly awaiting his first solo full album in 10 years with an undisclosed 2026 release date. “Ameonna” is the first single of the album, released last year, and is a hauntingly beautiful track using his producing prowess to create a cinematic, tension building track that does not need words to illustrate a story.
“Science” is the first single released this year, with singer Stevie Appleton. With only four lines in the almost 10-minute track, deadmau5 uses Appleton’s longing voice and deeply calculated instrumental breaks to pull emotions out of the listeners like no other.
Here is to eagerly awaiting the album release and his monumental performance that is to take place at Goldrush. Festival goers will still be in for a treat seeing the mau5 work his magic on stage, and helping everyone create beautiful memories together.
