Boogie T Channels Smokey Bear in New BOP, ‘Forest Fire’

Louisiana-based wub wizard Boogie T is a multitalented producer, singer, and instrumentalist. He has provided vocals, guitar work, and a collaborative spirit to countless artists. Boogie T has also performs vocals for a side project known as BOOGIE T.RIO. The project also includes Frank “Animal Drums” Castro on drums and Andriu ‘Yano’ Yanovski on keyboards. Both projects maintain a quality and consistent output. His solo work is also impressive, making him a well-rounded producer.

Boogie T’s latest Drama Club drop; “Forest Fire” is a masterclass in sampling. The title refers to Smokey Bear and his catchphrase; “Only You Can prevent forest fires!” Vintage commercials for this ad campaign are sampled, including the famous catchphrase itself. The song’s wubs take on a menacing tone and add to the urgency of preventing forest fires. The bass sounds straight out of a dark robot dystopia with slow moving laser like sounds. The drums are subtle, but hard hitting. Giving “Forest Fire” a solid rhythmic foundation. The track moves slowly and methodically, much like an actual forest fire. An adaptation of a very popular EDM instrumental can be also be found laced throughout. You will know it when you hear it. The single’s cover art features a Boogie T version of Smokey Bear, complete with his trademark facial hair and a hat bearing his name. All of these elements combine to create a dope song with themes and good vibes.
