Decadence Artist Spotlight: Zomboy — Bonebreaker Extraordinaire

Justin Mellody, better known as Zomboy, is a dubstep king. In 2011 Zomboy made his debut with the Game Time EP on Never Say Die Records, which was at the top of the Beatport Dubstep charts for eight weeks. By the end of the year his tracks had made their way onto two more esteemed labels. It’s been five years since then he’s put out 4 more EPs an LP and an album. He’s hit stages around the world and continues to bring the filth with him wherever he goes. He’s built an enormous reputation for himself based on his innovation and aggressive, attention-grabbing tracks.

Zomboy -Like A Bitch

Despite all of his success and his formal training in music production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in England, he’s remained humble calling his fame, “all a bit silly, really”. It’s always been about the music and connecting with fans for him.

Zomboy, who’s alias comes from the game Left For Dead, has said he pulls a lot of inspiration from artists like Skrillex and Rusko. His tracks are full of a similar wonky bass and head-banging beat.

Zomboy doesn’t slow down. He’s been one of the hardest working producers in the game since he first emerged. This past spring he released the Neon Graves EP, and most recently Zomboy released the single “Invaders”. With screeching basslines and an out-of-this-world feel, it’s a track that encapsulates everything Zomboy.

Zomboy brings his dubstep filth to the Decadence stage on Saturday, December 31st! You won’t want to miss it– get tickets here.
