This Watch it Wednesday, we are checking out Zedd and Katy Perry’s newest track “365.” This pop-influenced banger is Katy Perry’s first track since she went on a brief hiatus in 2017. Her vocals are clean and emotional. Her use of clean, harmonic vocals takes this track to another level. Zedd’s finely-tuned bars and melody stays true to his original style and bring “365” up a notch.
The icing on the cake for this track is the music video. It’s futuristic and raises so many questions. The video features robot Katy Perry being programmed to be the perfect companion to human test subject Zedd. After becoming too attached and clingy to Zedd, robo-Perry gets decommissioned and is shut down by the scientists. The futuristic sci-fi theme of this music video fits the track perfectly and gives the track a much-appreciated twist.
Zedd, Katy Perry – 365 (Official)
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Katy Perry dive into the world of EDM. In 2017 she collaborated with Calvin Harris to drop “Feels.” Also, a ton of her tracks has been remixed by some of the largest names in the dance music world like Oliver Heldens, 3LAU, and Valentino Khan. It’s exciting to see Perry branch out into the world of dance music.
Zedd, on the other hand, has become an iconic household name in the industry. Since his breakthrough into the scene in 2011, Zedd has released endless hits that have been featured on Billboard’s Top 100 Charts and has played festivals all of the world like Tomorrowland, Ultra Miami, and EDC Las Vegas. “365” is a perfect example of what happens when two of the most prestigious voices in the music video join forces.
