Diplo & Born Dirty Release Sultry Remixes of ‘Samba Sujo’

The one and only Diplo, born and recently re-branded Thomas Wesley, has mastered the industry and, in turn, multiple genres as well. First launching his label Mad Decent, Diplo has since collaborated with A-list artists like the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber. While he’s established enormous success within house music and mainstream EDM, Wesley hasn’t slowed down yet. He’s also established a country music persona under his given name, debuting the project at this year’s Stagecoach Festival. He hasn’t forgotten his house origins, though; his new Higher Ground imprint has already seen releases from artists like Walker & Royce and, most recently, Diplo’s own first drop on the imprint with Born Dirty titled “Samba Sujo.” Additionally, remixes from Blond:ish and Felix Da Housecat & Dave The Hustler are available from Higher Ground. Listen below.

The Sergio Mendez-sampling Brazilian house original bursts with Latin-flavor on its own, but these remixes see extra spice sprinkled to the track. Melodic/tribal house heavyweight Blond:ish, who also collaborated with Diplo on “Give Dem” from his Higher Ground EP earlier this year, zests it up with a focus on tribal drums and a soothing, gentle bassline. OGs Felix Da Housecat & Dave The Hustler take it low and slow with a deeper, muted beat. Higher Ground sees a variety of sound with the fiery original and following remixes.

Diplo will bring his plethora of genres and sought-after house to Decadence Arizona on December 30th and 31st. You can get tickets here
