YetepFestival season is officially underway all over the world. The scope of EDM festivals that take place from June to September is so large that it’s almost impossible to cover. Here in the US we may have Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and Ultra Music Festival, but a whole new world literally opens up once you get across the pond.
Tommorrowland takes place annually in the appropriately named Belgian town Boom. It features an extensive fairytale theme that’s played host to the likes of Afrojack, Carl Cox, Swedish House Manfia, Avicii, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk and the like since the inaugural festival in 2005. An expected 180,000 people will attend the festival over the July 27 weekend making it one of Europe’s largest festivals.
To celebrate this year’s festival, Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label put out the special mix ‘Fight Club’ featuring tracks from Felix Cartal, Autoerotique, Robbie Rivera, Joachim Garraud, Infected Mushroom, and Steve Aoki himself. The half-hour mix is a group representation of all the good work that’s coming out of Dim Mak right now and showcases some of the artists that will be performing at Tomorrowland. It’s just a bummer that Dim Mak apparently missed the memo that ‘Fight Club is Closed.’
Unfortunately, tickets for the festival are sold out, so if you’re heading to Europe you may have poor luck finding a way in (tickets have the purchaser’s name on them). Regardless, you can find out more info about Tomorrowland at their site.
