YetepFear not, Shazam users, dance music has made its way onto the app’s radar. Shazam has partnered with Beatport to better serve people using their app to identify dance music tracks.
The Shazam app will get 1.5 million additional tracks that it will now be able to identify, even at various BPMs.
A good portion of the music tracks identified through Shazam last year were EDM tracks, and this new partnership will allow for even more versatile use of Shazam to identify songs that may not have been on the app’s original database.
Shazam allows users to press a button on their iPhone or Android device to identify a song playing in the room using the microphone on their device. Shazam has over 275 million users tagging and sharing music, with 2 million new users joining each week.
