Chris Lake’s debut album Chemistry arrived last Friday on his own label, Black Book Records, and it’s already one of the biggest dance releases of the year. The 15-track project has broken into the Spotify Top 10 Debut Albums Globally, climbed to #6 in the U.S., and claimed the #1 Dance Album spot on both Apple Music and Beatport. These are monumental achievements for Lake and the Black Book team, made even more impressive by the fact that Chemistry is a fully self-funded, independent release competing directly with major-label heavyweights.
The momentum hasn’t stopped since the drop. Chris played two electric shows in New York to celebrate the release, and fans can now relive the full Brooklyn Storehouse set on his YouTube channel—his first uploaded live set in seven years! Chemistry is packed with standout tracks like “Savana,” “Ease My Mind,” and “Falling,” his stunning collaboration with Bonobo. It also includes a deeply personal track with his wife Atig, and a long-awaited reunion with Alexis Roberts of “Turn Off The Lights” fame.
More than just a collection of club bangers, Chemistry is a full-body experience—and it’s already my favorite album of the year. It’s been on repeat since release day, and every time I listen, a new track becomes my favorite. The album is taking over social media and connecting far beyond the electronic scene, proving that independent artistry can still have a global impact.
Chris Lake will bring the Chemistry Album Tour to the pulsing dancefloor of Revel in Albuquerque on December 11th, and the open-air energy of Rawhide in Chandler on December 13th. Both nights are expected to be explosive highlights of the tour, capping off the year with unforgettable energy and massive crowd moments.
