YetepUtah’s Sundance Music Festival continues to introduce some of the most groundbreaking and though-provoking films emerging in 2014 this January.
Music has been an integral part of the film festival featuring various industry panels, music documentaries and live shows happening across multiple venues in Park City. Billboard sat down with Skylar Grey before performing with Kaskade to chat about her experience collaborating with him on “Room For Happiness” as well as collaborating with Moby and David Guetta. Her airy vocals and feminine overtones are made for dance tracks, which tend to balance predominant basslines and overwhelming synths. Check out the full interview below.
In her interview with Billboard, Grey details her first meeting with David Guetta where he was pleased to find that she was, in fact, an attractive woman rather than “fat and ugly” keeping her vocals safe from being replaced in the studio by someone who ranked higher on the attractive scale. Awkward and “douchey” come to mind. She goes on to detail their collaboration “Shot Me Down” now available in Beatport.
