As he states in his introduction to the song, Ferry Corsten‘s most asked question in interviews is: “Will there ever be a new Gouryella track, Ferry?” Well as of today the answer to that question is officially a big fat YES! On May 28th, Ferry Corsten world-premiered the track, “Anahera”, on his Corsten’s Countdown radio show. The track is not officially available for purchase as of yet, but will be released via Flashover Recordings on June 15th.
This track takes us back to the days of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s when Trance was a language spoken by few but understood by many. This is the first track by Gouryella in over a decade and it is like they never took a hiatus in the first place. The song transports you back to the days when Trance was just Trance; it wasn’t a blend of several genres that incorporated pop vocals into the beats. This is classic.
Ferry Corsten took his fans off guard when he announced on May 27th via Facebook that he would be dropping a new Gouryella track. He stated, “After a long time, I suddenly got the inspiration for this fantastic uplifting trance melody that had a big nostalgic feel for me. Everything came together in the studio just perfectly.” Following he remarked that there was no other option but to give the song the Gouryella name… and what a fantastic and appropriate decision that was.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Goryella, meaning “heaven” in an aborigine language, was a project that was originally developed by Ferry Corsten and Tiesto back in 1999. In 2001 the two DJs decided to discontinue the project. With the appropriately titled “Anahera”, meaning “angel”, Ferry Corsten has brought back Gouryella without Tiesto, but the heavenly sound of the original duo still holds.
Mark your calendars for June 15th when the uplifting spectacle will be available for purchase. Until then, lets just hope that this track will receive enough attention and create a big enough calling for the return of classic Gouryella beauty. Thank you Ferry Corsten… thank you SO much!
