Yetep“It was new, and it was exciting, and it was fun, and we were really enjoying ourselves.” Chicago is a city deeply rooted in techno’s rise to prominence, and will forever be a hub for the dirty underground vibes of the genre’s nature. Having grown up on house music from the likes of Green Velvet, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, and Gene Farris, Toronto’s own, Sydney Blu, has developed a passion and a calling for this Chicago-based tech house sound.
With her latest EP release, Stoned, Sydney Blu has dropped 2 fresh tracks that bleed the tonality of Illinois’ concrete jungle. The title track of the EP has already reached #38 on the Beatport Tech House charts and is quickly progressing in rank. The track has received support from house-heavyweights such as Mark Knight, Matt Sassari, Tocadisco, and Prok & Fitch.
In addition, the EP also features a track titled “Don’t Mess Around” which, like “Stoned,” features well mixed vocal samples combined with a groovy bassline that evokes imagery of the Chicago-underground of which the track is inspired.
Download Stoned on Beatport now and expose yourself to the far-out vibes that exhilarated a generation.
