YetepToday we have some very exciting news for Arizona, the one and only Bassnectar will be Headlining our very own Global Dance Festival 2016. And no, this isn’t an April Fools joke.
Global Dance Festival AZ was born two years ago and made its debut at Tempe Beach Park with artists like Adventure Club, Steve Aoki, and Crizzly to name a few, and last year moved to Rawhide’s Wild West Town for a bigger and better Western themed edition of the festival. 2015’s Global featured Marshmello, NGHTMRE, RL Grime, Deorro, and more! Its looking like 2016’s lineup is going to take us even further!
I know many of you have been patiently awaiting Bassnectar’s arrival here in Arizona, and now the time has come! He’s one of the most long-standing and influential musicians in the electronic dance music era and might have the biggest fan base as well. There are really no fans that compare to Bassnectar fans as they fight for the front row and head bang in harmony. His music is known for its eclecticism, embracing elements of extreme bass, dubstep, breakbeat, and other styles, as well as shifting tempos, contrasting moods, and dynamics that go from gentle to filthy and back during the course of a set.
Nectar has also recently come out with a camping festival of his own called Basscenter. The lineup is about as stellar as expected, with the man himself headlining both nights alongside Flux Pavilion, Wu-Tang Clan, Flying Lotus, Porter Robinson, Lupe Fiasco and AlunaGeorge. Supporting acts include Minnesota, G Jones, Dabin, and Thriftworks.
I think its safe to say that the first announcement for this year’s Global is a big one, and stay tuned because there’s many more coming your way!
Tickets go on sale April 8th!
