Festival Focus: Bonnaroo

Currently, many people are heading to Great Stage Park, Tennessee where this mother of a festival is held. Bonnaroo takes the cake as it holds some of the most historic lineups in festival history. With such a large dimension of musical talent, you will find classic rock, electronic, rap, and indie all down on the farm.

Within the last three years, Bonnaroo has had headliners range from Elton John, Paul McCartney and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, and of course, Bassnectar. This year, Pearl Jam takes the stage along with LCD Soundsystem, J. Cole, and The Chainsmokers. Certainly, Bonnaroo’s lineup is so boundless it is a festival even your parents would like to attend.

There are additional ways to entertain yourself other than checking out the musical talent. Bonnaroo is a music AND arts festival. Search for your favorite craftsman or artisan at the Centeroo market and do some shopping for an upcoming birthday (including your own).

Once you have checked out the artwork, there is a plethora of other sites to get yourself wrapped up in. The Game at Pod 2 contains ping-pong, cornhole, and life-sized checkers and chess. Along with that, The Fountain is the best way to cool down and refresh before a big night. Each year, The Fountain is repainted by a chosen artist or group of artists, so it remains one of the most unique structures on the grounds.

So if you’re not on your way to Bonnaroo right now, you may want to start preparing for next year. Bonnaroo is one of the most recognized festivals by all age groups for a reason. Grab your significant other, your best friends, or even your mom and head down to the farm to create your own #BonnaYOU moments.
