YetepLet’s be real, we all have those tracks that slap us right back into our youth, back when neon was a personality trait and “dropping the bass” wasn’t just a euphemism. Here are five iconic tunes (plus a bonus!) that will put you in a warm, nostalgic trance.
1. “Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix)” – DJ Fresh
If this song doesn’t make you want to jump on the nearest table and head bang to the throwback dubstep sound design, do you even like EDM? Flux Pavilion took DJ Fresh’s drum & bass original and turned it into an entire era itself.
2. “Crash 2.0″ – Adventure Club
Adventure Club said, “What if dubstep… but make it cry?” and honestly, we’re still not over it. Melodic, emotional, and better than the original, this was the soundtrack to a thousand “I love you, man!” moments at 3 AM.
3. “Cops” – Vanic x K.Flay
Free spirited and impossibly cool, this was the song you blasted when you wanted to feel like the main character in an indie film about being young and free. K.Flay’s vocals over Vanic’s future bass production? Still unmatched.
4. “One Day They’ll Know (ODESZA Remix)” – Pretty Lights
The golden age of ODESZA remixes, they were gifting us remixes that felt refreshing and filled with love. This remix is pure golden-hour magic, warm, hopeful, and oozing with that melodic elegance they are so great at curating.
5. “Disarm You” – Kaskade
Kaskade has always been a king of feelings, and this track is a whole emotional cleanse. Smooth, soulful, and subtly euphoric. No other words are needed to describe this anthem.
BONUS: “Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix)” – Freestylers
The ultimate “wait, I know this one!” track. Flux (yes, again) took an already great tune and made it immortal. If you didn’t lose your mind when those vocals led up into the drop, did you even experience the early 2010s?
