Artist Spotlight: Mija — Fk A Genre

FRI, SEP 9, 2016

Mija, known for her pastel hair and unpredictable yet always groovy sets, is one of the biggest talents to come out of Phoenix. From happy hardcore, which she’s said is inspired by her AZ raver days, to techno and bounce, she’s made it her mission to never fit in just one box. The genre-defying artist got her start as a promoter within the scene, and began DJing regularly at 19. Mija’s success skyrocketed in June of 2014 when she played a B2B set with Skrillex, who has now become a close personal friend, at Bonnaroo Music Festival. She went on to play Burning Man and TomorrowWorld later that summer, and has not slowed sown since.

Despite only being in the mainstream for a few years Mija has already built quite the reputation for herself within the industry. She’s remixed huge names like Claude VonStroke, Major Lazer, and DJ Snake and has released a number of tracks on the OWSLA record label. It’s no surprise that Billboard Magazine recently listed her as one of the “15 Female DJs You Need To Know”.

She recently announced her FK A Genre Tour – a name that embodies her style as an artist. Better yet, she’s put together a stacked supporting line-up with some of her best producer friends, including Jack Beats, Justin Martin A-Trak and Kill the Noise to name a few. This is a show that’s guaranteed to keep you dancing and keep you guessing what’s gonna come next.

Mia is bringing her tour to a close in her home town of Phoenix on November 23rd at the Pressroom! You don’t want to miss it!
