Our favorite monochrome music maker has a heart even bigger than his humongous helmet. This week, Marshmello partnered with Electric Family Media and Toy Lending Library of Los Angeles to make a difference in the community with more than just his music.
Donating thousands of dollars in toys to the public library, Marshmello greatly enhanced the free program that allows children to borrow a different toy every week in the same manner they would borrow books, and earn points for keeping the toys in good condition and returning them on time. The service focuses on teaching children life skills– honesty, cleanliness, courtesy and responsibility– at a young age while simultaneously giving them healthy and appropriate outlets for entertainment.
DO GOOD with Marshmello, Electric Family Media
Marshmello didn’t stop there. After his generous donation, he happily did hundreds of meet and greets with L.A. children while handing out high-fives along with the toys he’s donated.
“Today we were fortunate enough to partner with Marshmello,” said an Electric Family Media representative in a video ‘mello featured on his Instagram. “All the credit goes to him because he’s the one that wanted to give back to the kids.”
Hopefully this heartwarming gesture provokes other artists in the industry to step out and make a difference beyond their dance beats and dirty drops.
